One Month

Heath started crying more once we moved to Florida.
It was like he suddenly found out that when he cried, he really got our attention.
Heath smiles and frowns when he initially falls asleep.
Heath smiles really big after he poops or farts.
He likes his swing and sometimes falls asleep in it. (I try not to let him fall asleep in it so it won't become a habit)
Heath has a hard time waking up and grunts in his sleep for a good half hour or so before he will open his eyes to wake up.
Heath is put to sleep by following a routine: We change his diaper, put him in his pjs, and one of us will rock him while we both sing him primary songs.
Heath is just starting to follow mom from side to side when she walks around the room slowly. He is just starting to follow a toy as well.
Heath loves tummy time.
Heath doesn't really take his binkie, but we don't really give it to him.
Heath is a good little nurser.
He loves to eat.
Heath tends to be really content and then all the sudden he'll start crying really loud. It' like he goes from 0 to 100 in 1 second flat. I've tried to figure out his cries. I pretty much know when he's tired. He has a very distinct "waaaa" cry.
He also licks his lips when he is either hungry or needs a burp. Sometimes he needs both at the same time which gets pretty tricky because he's not always the most patient guy while I'm trying to get the burp up first so then I can feed him.
He spits up one of his meals pretty much every other day. We're using simethicone to help him get up his burps and push out his farts. It seems to work pretty well. We gave him omeprazole a few times to see if that would help him stop spitting up his meals, but it didn't seem to do much and with the reported side effects we stopped giving it to him.
We started vitamin D drops.
He will take a bottle of breast milk which is great!
He loves bath time.
Heath goes to sleep at 8pm and wakes up at 2am and then 5am.
Heath typically lies in the fencer position most of the time.
He hates to be swaddled.
He still has his Babinski reflex.
He has quite the startle reflex and is easily startled.
When Heath is acting fussy, we toggle his legs back and forth in a running movement. He loves this. We sing "run, run, run, run, run...." and he brings his hands up to his face and smiles a huge grin. I think it helps relieve some gas pains. It looks like he's dancing.
Heath's eyes are still that baby grey blue color. Dad is hoping they will be hazel like his and I'm caught in the middle. I'd love to have either, but initially I wanted them to be blue like mine.
Heath still makes baby noises when he sleeps.
Heath is a very light sleeper and will wake up at the drop of a feather.
Dan can put Heath to sleep at any given minute whether he's tired or not by bouncing him on the edge of our bed while cradling Heath against his body for 4-5 minutes. I like to call it "5 minutes until heaven."
The day Heath turned three weeks, he's been taking hour naps. No more three hour naps for this little guy, which means this mom gets practically nothing done during the day. Oh well, as Dan would say, "I'd rather have a happy family than a clean house!"

First time to church as a family!
