The Kingsley Plantation & the Fairy!

Shortly after we moved to Florida, my great aunt Danna came to visit! We went out for seafood and took a trip to a plantation and got to ride the fairy! We had a great time! Just wish Dan didn't have to work :(

What beautiful day!

Mr. Kingsley was one of the first white plantation owners who married a black woman. Compared to other slaves, his were treated very well. We really enjoyed learning all about him and his posterity.

Heath was so tiny!

We loved all the palm trees!

In front of the plantation house.

Where the slaves lived.

Old homes where the slaves lived. The above picture is one of these that had the roof put back on to show what it really used to look like inside.

The cement walls have sea shells mixed in. Some people still build their homes with shells in the cement. It's so pretty!

The marsh

Such a beautiful ride. A tad bit bumpy, but beautiful nonetheless!

Riding the barge to get to the plantation!

Beautiful fish swimming by he barge :)

Heath's first barge ride!

We had such a fun time!
