Heath coos, babbles, and smiles
Heath loves his changing table and smiles whenever he lays on it
Heath loves to have his diaper changed
Heath loves to take a bath. We can get lots of smiles out of him in the tub and he just looks so relaxed
Heath is holding up his head all by himself better than ever
Heath "makes such cute faces," says daddy
Heath loves tummy time. He can hold his head up and turn it from side to side. He tries to scoot with his legs, but doesn't quite know how to use his arms yet.
He discovered his hands a few days after he got sick. They tend to go straight to his mouth. We can also tell when he's getting tired because he can rub his eyes with his fists.
His fingernails grow like weeds. I have to clip them pretty much every other day or he scrapes himself in the face
He sneezes only once when he has to sneeze.
He likes to primarily be held like he's being burped over your shoulder.
Heath likes to be rocked to sleep while mom or dad says "ssssssshhhhh" really softly into his ear. He also likes to go for walks around the house and look at everything on the walls and in the rooms.
Heath doesn't really like to go for walks outside since it's so hot, but when it's cooler in the evenings, walks typically put him straight to sleep. Heath likes the beach, the tide puts him to sleep.
Heath flirts when he's being nursed in the afternoons. He will pause, look me straight in the eye and coo, which is always followed by the biggest grins. Due to the setting of this happening, I haven't caught it on tape, but I need to because it's so precious.
He loves his mobile of stars, a turtle, a mirror, and a frog that sings. I often catch him flirting with the frog, turtle or star. He'll look right at one of them and then give a huge grin and coo at it! Awe, it melts my heart!
Heath likes to look at lights. Anything bright gets his attention.
Heath doesn't like one particular toy right now, pretty much anything that is swung above his head will get his attention, but some days a particular toy will get more smiles out of him than others.
Heath no longer spits up his entire meals after he's finished nursing.
Heath likes it when I run by hair over his face. He gives me a huge smile!
Heath likes to follow me around the room and knows my voice. Heath will sometimes cry if he can't hear me singing. Once I get within earshot, he'll quiet down and listen. Other times he will only quiet down when I pick him up. Either way, Heath loves to be held and sung to.
Before Heath got sick he slept from 8pm to 4am. When Heath was sick, I woke him up every 2 or 3 hours to eat. I didn't want him to get dehydrated with all of his diarrhea. His schedule hasn't quite gotten back to normal. He goes to sleep at 8pm and sleeps until 1am then he's up to eat again at 4am. I have debated moving him to his own room because his "baby noises" wake me up at 1am. Otherwise he would probably sleep until 4am. I need to not get up until he cries, but ever since he got sick, I haven't let him cry at night. I get up with the first sound I hear, but I need to wait. I just feel like since he's already woken me up, I might as well just feed him. Again, I need to get the courage to move him to his own room. I'm thinking one more month :) We'll see! I'll try to wait until he cries before I try to feed him.
Heath typically goes to sleep at 8pm and wakes up around 2am and then 4 or 5 am. Some nights he will sleep from 8pm to 4am. It just depends.
Heath loves to play with dad when he gets home from work. Heath flirts with dad all night until bedtime.
We have added reading the Book of Mormon into our nightly routine.
Heath's bum has been reddened from all his diarrhea, but it's getting better with some air time and cloth diapers.
Heath still hates his car seat. He cries when we put him in it.
Heath is starting to like his binky more and more as we're giving it to him more and more.
He loves his swing and looks at himself in his mirror.
Heath smiles right after he poops or farts, but not as much as he did the first month.
He no longer falls asleep and makes happy and sad faces.
Heath lays in the fencer position most of the time. He is still easily startled. Heath loves to lay on your chest to fall asleep and sleeps longer when held especially on your chest.
When Heath is fussy, we toggle his legs back and forth and sing "Run, run, run, run, run...." He loves it, but not as much as he used to. He still smiles, but he doesn't bring his hands up to his face and "dance."
Heath doesn't just smile to smile. He is very cautious about giving his smiles away. He furrows his brow and must watch you carefully before he will give you a huge smile.
He likes to make eye contact with you when he smiles and flirts/coos.
He smiles when we show him a picture of Christ. Dan and I both cried the first few times we did this. Heath looks up at the picture of Christ when he's laying on the floor and smiles at Him! Randomly Heath will sometimes look above our heads at the white wall and start to smile and coo. It's like he is talking to someone who isn't there. Perhaps an ancestor here to visit.
Heath doesn't like to take naps with so much light coming through our windows, but living in Florida, it's always sunny. Heath hides his head in the crook of my neck and snuggles in real tight to hide his eyes from the sun. It's so precious.
Heath stretches for about 5 solid minutes when he wakes up in the morning. He also stretches a lot when he wakes up from his naps, but definitely not as much as in the mornings.
Heath prefers to have mom put him to sleep. Perhaps he forgets who dad is when he's gone at work so long.
Heath smiles really big when I click my tongue, make fart noises, and other silly noises with my mouth. He tries to click his tongue and when he does, he smiles really big! He's so proud of himself when he scoots just a little on the changing table. He always smiles so big his eyes dance. He also likes it when I sing "la, la, la, la, la, la" in varying tones and ranges. His smiles gets huge!
Heath's eyes are light blue in the center and that dark baby grey on the outside. Dan is thinking he'll have Grandpa Miller's blue eyes. My blue eyes are yellow in the center, so they aren't mine :(
Heath likes to blow bubbles with his mouth.
Heath no longer makes funny facial expressions in his sleep :( He still smiles every once in a while, but not like he used to.
Heath loves toys swung over his head to look at, but when they are swung in a circle, it makes things ten times better!
After you sneeze, you say "awgooo." If you can't get a sneeze out, you say, "awoooo." It's so cute!
You no longer "gulp" like you're going to starve when you nurse! You are much quieter!
Picture overload:
Dino jammies just like daddy!
Trying to catch that smile on camera!!!!!
Gotcha!
Cooing :)
Finding his hand!
Awe!
Blowing bubbles!
So tiny!
Getting some head control!
Heath love to work out with mommy!
Trying to get that fist in his mouth!
Such a happy little boy!
I didn't take my camera with me when Heath was hospitalized, so we don't have any pictures to document the experience, but here is one showing where they injected his abx.
Look at that concentration!
Not quite ready for the bumbo, but with mommy holding up his head, he likes it!
Church can sure wear out a baby boy :)
That's enough pictures :)
