4 Months

Heath is mobile!
At first, he would only roll over during the night and when we'd wake up he would be on his tummy. Then, one day he started rolling over to his right side during the day, but not completely. He would get stuck on his shoulder. I would help him roll all the way over. We would practice several times during the day. On October 25th, I started to keep track of how many times he rolled over his right shoulder and I couldn't keep track! My dad was the first relative to see him roll over (halfway). He kept getting caught on his right shoulder. Then, my mom and Carson saw him do it, for real :) Once Dan came home from work, he saw him do it too!!! We celebrated with popcorn and Fanta :) Heath is pretty much a one way roller. He rolls to the right, but he has rolled a few times to the left. Again, he just keeps getting stuck on his shoulder. We keep cheering him on, which seems to help!

Heath celebrated his first Halloween! Dan and Heath were hunters and I was the deer they were hunting :) We took him trick or treating, but it was pretty silly since he can't even eat candy. We went more for the socialization.

We've been trying the Ferber method to get Heath to fall asleep by himself. It seemed to work after a week, but then once he started taking regular naps, his sleep during the night got all messed up. Plus, Heath with rolling over at night and getting his legs stuck in the railings hasn't helped. Really, Heath's sleeping at night and his naps have just gotten out of control. He'll take a 30min nap here and a 45 min nap there. We go through the same routine each day and yet his nap lengths are not predictable. Same with his sleeping at night. One night he could wake up at 3am and at 5am. The next night, he could sleep all the way through the night. It's a mystery to me.

We introduced rice cereal with breast milk around the 13th of November and Heath absolutely hates it. He makes all sorts of sour faces. Heath sometimes cries when I nurse him and arch his back. It's another mystery. I'm guessing it's gas pain, so we cuddle a lot :)

Heath likes when we read to him. He can sit through 2-3 books. His favorite is, "Where is My Kitten." His face brightens when he sees the cover of the book. Perhaps he likes how the book tastes compared to his other books?  :)

Heath likes "The Wheels On the Bus" especially when we sing it with animal noises. He also likes "I'm a little Tea Cup," "The Itsy, Bitsy Spider," and "Patty Cake"--not so much on the last one--I don't know why.

Heath is starting to like "Peek a Boo" especially when we emphasize the PEEK part. So cute!

Picture overload!
